Northwest Iowa Christian School Tuition Organization
Iowa taxpayers, who contribute to an STO receive an Iowa tax credit equal to 75% of their contribution. The amount contributed may also qualify as a charitable donation on federal tax returns.
STOs receive voluntary cash contributions from Iowa taxpayers and allocate those funds in tuition grants to Iowa school children, who in turn, use those grants to attend one of the schools represented by an STO. At least 90% of the money received by an STO must go back out in tuition assistance/grants.
How does it work?
1. You must own Iowa state income tax.
2. You must make out a check to NICSTO (Northwest Iowa Christian School Tuition Organization).
3. Complete the "Contribution Memo" and send it with the check to Rock Valley Christian School.
4. NICSTO will send you a letter of receipt for your Federal Tax information.
5. In early January, you will receive a tax credit certificate to attach to your Iowa tax form.
Example: If you contribute $1,000 to NICSTO, you will receive a 75% tax credit or $750 on your IA income tax.
Now is the time to make a contribution to NICSTO. Don't wait until December to donate. if you wait too long, our allotment will get filled up quickly once December comes.
Really?
Yes! The NICSTO program has been around for years and has been a benefit to both the recipient (school) and the donor (you). This is a great tax benefit to those who will be paying taxes on their income. NO LIMIT on your contribution amount!
When?
All donated money will need to be sent to Rock Valley Christian School by December 1st. Please prayerfully consider donating to this fund! All donations are greatly appreciated!
Applications
NICSTO applications become available in January of each year and will be sent to each family. The first payout is normally in February. You can find the form under the 'Parents' tab, 'Office Handouts'.
