My name is Lisa Van Heuvelen. I am teaching 6th grade Bible and language. This is my 34th year at RVCS. I have taught Kindergarten, first, second, and fourth grade.
I grew up in Pipestone, MN, and attended Southwest (MN) Christian High School, and Dordt University.
I am married to Brad and have three grown children: Brooke and Jon Heeringa, Ross, and Scott, and three grandchildren, Adalyn, Henry and Claire. Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading, exercising, playing piano, and spending time with family and friends.
In the contemporary testimony, "Our World Belongs to God," (in the back of the Psalter Hymnal) I like section fifty. It reads: "In education, we seek to acknowledge the Lord by promoting schools and teaching in which the light of his Word shines in all learning, where students, of whatever ability, are treated as persons who bear God's image and have a place in his plan."
