I'm excited to join this community for the upcoming school year ('24-25) and to provide supportive services to students. I have been a school social worker for the past 16 years at schools in SW Minnesota. I attended my undergrad at Augustana University and received my Masters in Social Work from Augsburg University. I hold an Iowa Masters Level of Social Work License. I've had experiences in providing a wide variety of both individual and group based school services. I have worked with children experiencing concerns in the areas of anxiety, depression, mood regulation, anger, grief, and social skills. I enjoy supporting students to find the best possible ways for them to cope and become able to regulate their emotions. I love walking alongside students and their families and finding strategies that work best for them. I have also served on a school crisis response team for many years and have training in providing skills for recovery following a crisis. In my free time, I love spending time with my husband and three children. We enjoy traveling, camping, and hiking (My favorite place to visit is the Utah National Parks!) I also like to research new baking recipes to test out. I have 2 dogs that I adore! Again, I look forward to serving the school in this capacity.
