General Communication:
Rock Valley Christian School's main communication to parents is via email. We collect this information at registration. If your email address (and/or any of your contact information) changes at any point during the school year, please inform the office. Teachers may send home weekly sheets and/or have webpages that can be accessed from our website.
When you need to reach a teacher at school, please email him/her directly or call the office and we will deliver a message.
If you need to reach your child during the day, please call the office. If your child needs to call you, after obtaining permission from their teacher, have them use the phones in their rooms or the office phone. Instruct your student to leave a message should they get your voicemail. Students should not be emailing or texting you during the school day.
Students leaving or arriving during school hours: please inform the office and your teacher (phone/email/note) if your child has an appointment and will be late to school or picked up during the day. Please have the student report to the office to sign in/out anytime they are arriving/leaving the building during the school day.
The principal sends out a "Warrior Weekly" email. Download the RVCS App and this information will be at your fingertips!
Weather-related Announcements:
If inclement/adverse weather causes the school to start late, get out early, or be canceled, your family will be notified via text and/or email. This information can also be found on our school website, RVCS App, and our Facebook page.
In the event of "warning" conditions (i.e. tornado) while at school, preventative measures to ensure your child's safety will be taken. If this would occur close to the end of the school day, we would keep children at school until the "all-clear" has been given by city emergency personnel. You will receive a notification if this occurs.
Accidents/Injuries:
Should your child sustain an injury during school and staff determines they should be seen by a healthcare professional, you will be notified. If they sustain a non-threatening injury (i.e. scratch, bump) first aid will be administered.
Please see our concussion policy for concussion-related information. If your child sustains an injury that requires them to alter their school schedule (i.e. not participate in gym class, etc.) must bring a healthcare providers note to the office.
